Public speaking is usually listed as one of the top most common fears. Whether you have to speak in front of three people or 300, the thought of speaking in front of others can produce a certain amount of stress. Understanding the key principles of public speaking and learning to avoid the causes of stress will help you be a confident and successful speaker. In the first class, we will discuss how to formulate thoughts, develop a statement of purpose, and develop a strategy to overcome fear. The second class will be devoted to presentation techniques and methods of delivery. Students will prepare and deliver a short presentation to practice what is learned.
